Cascade

Cascade features excellent vigor and when brewed exudes a distinct spicy citrus aroma with hints of grapefruit. Well suited to just about any ale or lager, its use is particularly popular in American Pale Ales.

Characteristics: Floral, with elements of citrus and notes of grapefruit.

Purpose: Bittering and Aroma

Alpha Acid Range: 4.5%-8.9%

Beta Acid Range: 3.6%-7.5%

Chinook

Chinook hops are suitable for any stage of the boil. The variety features a pine-like, spicy bouquet and robust flavors of grapefruit.

Purpose: Bittering and Aroma

Alpha Acid Range: 12%-14%

Beta Acid Range: 3%-4%

Crystal

Crystal is woodsy, green, floral and fruity with herb and spice notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and black pepper. Extremely versatile despite its low alpha acid content, it’s even used for its notable aromatic qualities in IPAs and Bitters.

Beta Acid Range: 5.8%-7%

Triumph

After two decades in the making Triumph was officially released in 2019. More noble and delicate than other fruit forward varieties its bright aromas of lime, orange and peach are perfect for fruit forward ales, IPAs and lagers.

Characteristics: Stone fruit, citrus, piney/resinous, Bazooka bubblegum

Purpose: Aroma

Alpha Acid Range: 9.0%-12.0%

Beta Acid Range: 3.0%-5.0%

Zeus

Named after the god of lightning and thunder this variety has a pleasant aroma noted for it pungent hoppy kick and spicy, herbal flavor and aroma. Though considered identical to Columbus and Tomahawk®, or CTZ as they are sometimes sold, Zeus has been identified as being genetically distinct from these two varieties but with remarkable similarities to both.

Characteristics: Sweet citrus, herbal aromas

Purpose: Bittering

Alpha Acid Range: 13%-17%

Beta Acid Range: 4.5%-6.5%
